GOYA Foundation Australia Inc

The GOYA Foundation was established in 2004 by Felicity Fraser and supporters. After working with communities in Timor Leste (East Timor) since 1997 and more recently with the Highland women of Papua New Guinea, Felicity decided to establish a Foundation that could grow support for these and other women in positions of leadership in developing countries. The assistance given to these women can effectively influence and hopefully change the lives of many people in each of these countries.

The GOYA Foundation invites all women to become involved in the International community and to "discover that through the assistance of others we are enriching and expanding our own existence".

All monies raised by the Foundation go directly to the projects it supports. Currently these are:

  1. HIAM - Health, a maternal and infant welfare program to fight the appalling rate of infant mortality, deaths of children and malnutrition. Founded by Rosaria de Cruz.
Click here to view the HIAM website.

  2. The Little Brothers and Sisters of Christ Institute founded by Sister Lourdes de Cruz.
    - The Bairo Bite Clinic
    - The Hospitals for the Poor and Suffering in Betano, Tibar and Viqueque
    - The Boarding Schools for young men and women in Aileo
    - Payment for the education, food and clothing for the orphans living with the Institute

  3. Sister Aurora - Comoro Kindergarten in Dili; Primary School Education

  4. ETDA - East Timor Development Agency operated by Palmira Pires; vocational education training centre.

It is hard to ascertain, but approx $300,000 has been raised in addition to food supplements, medical supplies, farm machinery. Continuing to offer support to entire communities requires great commitment, hard work and courage!

We couldn't do this without you. Thank you most sincerely, Obrigada Barak!

The Goodwill that has been generated, the moral support that has been given to those in Timor Leste and PNG and the links forged between our communities is of course, priceless.
